Paper Making

Recently invested in a Mold and Deckle to make our own paper. We went to the blue mountains for our first session to gather and dry flowers to decorate them with. It took longer than expected to dry but we are happy with the results!

Fabric covered books

Being in the Architecture industry, there is always a surplus of scrap paper. I have taken a stack home and decided to turn them into fabric note books. Fabric from IKEA has a certain texture in them that I found perfect for the job.

Wedding Card

Today is one of my friend’s wedding day and being very last minute, I had to come up with a quick card in the morning before heading to the ceremony! Lucky I had some spare card stock from a previous wedding of which I made table numbers for.

Mini Kraft Notebooks Tutorial

And yet another christmas is coming. Once again I sought for and idea for little gifts that I can just hand out to some of my friends and a perfect size to also send overseas. These mini notebooks are perfect for the occasion, each with a customized stamp cover and so easy to make in batches!

What you need:

• A4 Stiff Kraft Paper; I say kraft paper but this can really be whatever you like. Just be sure it has some stiffness to it since it’s going to be the cover of your note books
• A stack of A4 white printing paper; I used normal reflex printing paper for this but the inside of the notebook can be whatever you like eg. graph or lined paper
• PVA glue
• Bulldog clips
• Things to decorate with; I used my rubber stamps  
• Metal Ruler and Knife
• Card board scraps
• Double sided Tape; Or a glue stick. This is used to stick the notepad to the cover

Pacman Paper Bag

This paper gift bag was folded from a piece of A4 card with a bit of twine. The pattern was the result of another one of my stamping experiments; using multiple stamps for a pattern! Quite a good pattern to try as the stamps weren’t that difficult to carve out. I am quite happy of how it turned out. Adds a retro feel to your gifts!

So I mentioned I got addicted to carving stamps. And with Christmas only a few days away, who can resist making more gift tags for the special ocassion? I can only use these festive stamps once a year afterall! 

Christmas Notebooks w/ Tag

My current obsession recently is with twine and custom stamps. And with Christmas coming up, I thought I’ll make some little gifts for some close friends of mine.  I figured these mini notebooks were an easy and perfect thing for the occasion.

The notebooks were simple to make; just by sewing a pieces of paper together. I used a sheet of brown card and a mix of graph, trace and coloured paper I had lying at home. Matching tags were produced out of the leftover brown card and all is decorated with some festive stamps I carved out of rubber. Finally, the whole package is bound up with twine and ready to be given!
